Due Diligence Services in the Middle East and Central Asia

Having been closely involved with the Middle East and Central Asia for the past 23 years, MEC is uniquely placed to undertake corporate due diligence investigations in the region.  We have a successful track-record of completing such tasks on behalf of a range of clients with professionalism, creativity, discretion and sensitivity.  Most of our experienced team of more than fifty consultants and investigators with backgrounds in diplomacy, banking and business have spent decades living and working in the region and have a profound understanding of Middle Eastern and Central Asian business practices and cultures.  With our impressive network of contacts and knowledge of Arabic, Farsi and Turkish, we know how to get the best results for our clients.

Typically, we have provided due diligence services to banks, law firms and multinationals developing or expanding their interests either in the Middle East, or working with Middle Eastern investors.  In some instances, we have also acted as a sub-contractor in the region for major international investigations companies requiring our in-depth regional expertise.  We are pleased to discuss clients’ exact requirements and to offer a fixed price quotation for undertaking a due diligence investigation based on an outline brief.  Such quotations are free.

The scope of MEC’s due diligence work is considerable.  We can:

  • Identify the backgrounds of individuals to include their reputations, political connections, associations, past and present activities and integrity.
  • Establish the history of a company to include its key customer relationships, management, partnerships, investments and funding, compliance with local regulations, position in the market and corporate strategy.
  • Investigate questionable practices and look for undisclosed liabilities in the behaviour and transactions of individuals/companies.
  • Clarify the precise nature of relationships between executives and partners and their connections with government and state officials to determine spheres of influence and alliances.
  • Determine major business and other risks in markets where the availability of public information is poor.
  • Assist with asset tracing and debt recovery.

Led by Managing Director Ian Walker, MEC offers companies an exceptional due diligence service in the Middle East and Central Asia. If you would like to discuss your due diligence needs then please contact him at Granville House, 132 Sloane St, London SW1X 9AX or on (020) 7591 4816; fax (020) 7591 4801; e-mail: queries(at)meconsult.co.uk
